The Maker's Muse Street Fair Is Just a Week Away!
Come to Chico, CA March 21 and 22 for art, music and a celebration of creative expression!
Spring into 2025 at the Maker’s Muse Festival, a free two-day community art festival hosted by Maker Radio, is coming to Chico, CA, on March 21-22, 2025! The event kicks off Friday, March 21, at 603 Orange Street from 5 PM to 10 PM. On Saturday, March 22, the festivities continue from 12 PM to 10 PM, on the closed street between West 6th and West 7th Streets. This celebration of local art and expression transforms the area into a vibrant hub of creativity, with performances at the 603 Orange Street Creative Business Park and Orange Street stages, adjacent to activities, food and art vendors.
Maker Radio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local and emerging artists and musicians while strengthening Chico’s live music scene. As an independent radio station serving Chico, CA, Maker Radio serves as a creative hub, providing local artists with accessible performance opportunities, radio airplay, live and studio recording sessions, high-quality video production, promotional materials, artist development and more.
There will be something there for everyone! Two days full of music, art, comedy and speakers and Saturday March 22 the street gets shut down for a full street fair with local vendors, food trucks, a reuse and thrift fashion show, mural contest, kids’ activities, fire dancers, art exhibits and demonstrations and more!
Our speakers are Keith McHenry of Food Not Bombs, Etienne de la Boetie2 of the Art of Liberty, Graham and Darren from Grimerica, astrologer Kosmic Kev100, Ian Ferguson of White Lotus of Light, and Chico Homeschoolers, both remote and in person. And Anartist, Chico Fab Labs member and an organizer of Maker’s Muse Brent Warr is playing twice with his band Compass Rose and his new band The Crash Carts on Saturday March 22!
I’ll be traveling to Chico, CA from upstate NY to volunteer for the festival and I’m really excited to see not just Maker Radio and Chico Fab Labs but all the local organizations involved in the event! I also can’t wait to meet Brent, the members of Chico Fab Labs, the musicians, comedians, speakers and everyone that comes to the fair. It will be my first time traveling as far west as California too so get ready for lots of videos and photographs! I’ll be documenting my entire trip and the Maker’s Muse Festival and Street Fair to share with everyone. Traveling by train might take longer than flying but it also gives me the opportunity to take photos of new places and I’m really excited to see more of the country!
You can find the full list of performers, comedians and speakers with links at The Anartist Collective’s event page where we also have links to the official Maker Radio event page and Facebook event page to check in at.
You can also follow Maker Radio on Instagram and Facebook and Chico Fab Labs on Instagram and Facebook for up to date information as it comes out. And definitely follow Maker Radio’s YouTube channel where they stream What Is Art? open mic every Thursday night! And while you’re at it check out the videos from their past events. It’s quite the venue and I’m really excited I get to check it out in person! If you live in or around Chico, CA and looking something fun to do next weekend March 21 and 22 come to the Maker’s Muse!
And follow The Anartist Collective on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and X where I’ll be posting photos and videos of my cross-country trip and Maker’s Muse in real time. I really can’t wait to explore the area, meet new people, find new artists, listen to new music and more and I want to bring everyone on my journey and discover new things along with me whether or not they can make it. I’ll be leaving in just a few days and I’ll have plenty of free time each way on the train so keep your eyes peeled! I honestly couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate the beginning of spring!
