We’re finally back after two weeks off from all shows while I was traveling to and from Chico, CA to help out with the Maker’s Muse Festival and Street Fair hosted by Maker Radio and the Orange Street Art District with Maker Radio member and Anartist Brent Warr of Compass Rose. Maker’s Muse wouldn’t have happened without Brent. It was his idea, he found the venue, he put in a lot of work and he even got the street shut down for street fair day. He even played twice! Erin Banwell, owner of Maker Radio and Chico Fab Labs, was a fantastic host and he has a wonderful establishment with a similar vibe as Blo Back Gallery too. Anyone who is in the Chico, CA area should definitely check out events and art shows at Chico Fab Labs and Maker Radio! And Maker’s Muse wouldn’t have happened if co-founder of The Anartist Collective Angela Anderson aka The Marmot Lady hadn’t talked to owner of The Blo Back Gallery in Pueblo, CO Jeff Madeen about putting on an event there. She put together the entire first Third Eye Carnival in Pueblo back in November 2023 and we wouldn’t be at this point without her. I’ll be sharing my experience in the next Substack post so keep an eye out! Traveling round trip coast to coast train trip for a festival took a lot out of me but it was so totally worth it! I’m finally just getting back to some things.

For right now we have the latest episode of Anartist Open Mic Night we had Anartist, herbalist and comedian Miriah Meiers back on to chat about comedy. Miriah also shared some past standup sets with us and I really enjoyed seeing that. After being in charge of the speaker and comedy stage at Maker’s Muse and with Miriah’s background in comedy, we both want to do more in that avenue with The Anartist Collective so check out the most recent episode of Open Mic Night to hear more!
